Stages of the PLAYBALL Program
Select age group: 3, 4, 5-6, 7-8

PLAYBALL for 3 year olds
This is a comprehensive program of games carefully devised and structured to teach a wide range of sports and social skills. The emphasis is on having fun with movement and playing games with a ball so that the child's first introduction to sport is a happy and positive one. This stage covers the following basic areas of sport development and provides a sound foundation for the next age group .
- Introduction to basic ball skills.
- Development of child's enjoyment for and confidence to participate in sports.
- Social integration with other children.
- Development of concentration.

PLAYBALL for 4 year olds
This section of the Playball program provides our “Playballers” with a solid grounding and a basic competence in ball skills. The children are exposed to a wide variety of different ball and sports skills in each lesson. The Playball environment remains fun-filled and non-competitive . It is in this stage that they have the opportunity to practise the skills more rigorously to develop competence in the following areas:
- Development of a wide variety of ball skills
- Emphasis on individual participation.
- Overcoming the fears that discourage sports participation.
- Introduction to organized ball skill activities

PLAYBALL for 5-6 year olds
This part of the Playball program focuses on the more demanding ball and sports skills. The Playball environment remains fun-filled and non-competitive . Each child's needs are taken into consideration and this is the perfect way for boys and girls to be part of the “team”. The foundation skills are laid for the popular sports in which your child may want to participate: hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf and volleyball. We focus on the following aspects of these sports:
- Development of skills related to these sports.
- Introduction to basic teamwork.
- Development of skills needed in a game situation.
- Introduction to partner work.

PLAYBALL for 7-8 year olds
It is in this program that the children are actually involved in playing the sports. The Playball environment for this age group remains fun-filled and non-competitive . Each child's needs are taken into consideration and this is still the perfect way for boys and girls to be part of the “team”. Successful completion of this program provides our “Playballers” with the skills and knowledge of the basic rules necessary to play hockey, basketball, baseball, soccer, tennis, golf and volleyball. Matches are played and drills used to continue to develop and prepare of a lifetime of confident and competent sports participation. The following aspects are emphasized:
- Introduction to each sport and its basic rules.
- Learning how to play as a member of the team.
- Further development of skills related to the sports taught.
- Development of more complex teamwork and strategies (attack and defence).
